Justin Georges, founder of HERS Raters of Cape Cod, was born and raised in Orleans, giving him deep, firsthand insight into Cape Cod homes and their unique energy challenges. For nearly two decades, he has worked with homeowners, builders, and architects to navigate the complexities of building science and evolving energy codes.

At HERS Raters of Cape Cod, our mission is to create healthier, more comfortable, and more cost-effective homes. We guide homeowners, builders, and architects in integrating energy-efficient solutions from the earliest design stages through construction and beyond. With more than 10,000 residential and commercial energy assessments completed across Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard, our experience is both extensive and local.

Our team holds professional certifications from ASHRAE, the Building Performance Institute (BPI), LEED, and RESNET, allowing us to translate complex requirements into practical, achievable solutions.

Driven by a passion for sustainability and community, HERS Raters of Cape Cod is dedicated to helping every home—new or existing—perform better, reduce energy waste, and deliver lasting comfort.

Nick DeRuyter, Project Manager

Born and raised on Cape Cod, he began his professional career as an ASE Master Certified Automotive Technician. He later served four years in the United States Marine Corps from 2003 to 2007. After completing his military service, he built a diverse background in business ownership, operating a landscaping company, a commercial fishing vessel, and a property management and general contracting business. His experience across multiple trades has given him a strong foundation in construction, problem-solving, and project management.
